Hooijer Footwear Group is a brand owner, importer and distributor of various brands for the Benelux and the entire European Union. The company was founded at the beginning of this century by Hilko Hooijer who turned it into a beautiful family business. The company is located in Oldenzaal, near the German border.
In the summer of 2022, Hooijer Footwear Group, together with the Netherlands' most distinctive shoe designer Jan Jansen, relaunched his eponymous brand.In the more than sixty years that Jansen has been designing, making and selling shoes, he has built up an oeuvre of more than 3,500 models.
Hooijer Footwear Group manages this collection and is therefore also responsible for storage and insurance of the pieces. For the insurance, Waardevol d’Ing was allowed to draw up a valuation report on the entire collection. For that purpose I spent two days in Oldenzaal on inspection.

In die twee dagen heb ik samen met de managing director Jan Jansen Amsterdam, Roel Roelofs, honderden dozen opengemaakt, uitgepakt en weer terug ingepakt, ondertussen fotograferend en ons ondertussen verbazend over de veelzijdigheid en creativiteit van de in 1941 geboren ontwerper. Jansen beperkte zich bepaald niet tot één schoentype of één stijl en je kunt het dan ook niet bedenken of hij heeft het ontworpen èn gemaakt.
Back home, I drew up a valuation report, with a very detailed inventory list compiled by Kristel Hooijer as support. Such insurance reports for business collections are valid for a maximum of three years and must therefore be checked regularly.
