Research

Research into origin, dating, and usage is essential when validating objects. As an appraiser, I naturally rely on my years of accumulated knowledge and experience. Additionally, it's important to corroborate that knowledge using literature and comparable objects, for instance, within museum collections.

Research as the foundation of preserving your possessions.

Research is also an integral part of my publications. Drawing from libraries, archives, and other sources, as well as material analysis, contributes to unraveling an object's background, the origin of a leatherworking technique, or a company history.

Research also underlies the conservation and management of objects, thereby ensuring the good condition of your cherished belongings.

Publications

Over the years I have contributed to a large variety of scientific and semi-scientific publications. Examples of my contributions can be found here.

I also keep ablog of interesting objects I come across. You will be the first to hear when I have posted a new blog via the newsletter.

Writing job?

Whether you require research to be conducted or have a writing job, such as commemorating your company's 100-year anniversary or exploring the history of chagrin leather, I eagerly await your request.
