The original Baguette bag was designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in 1997. From the very first moment, this bag became a real IT-bag, or a fashion icon that effortlessly stands the test of time and breaks all sales records year after year!
Why is this bag called a Baguette?
The Baguette seems like a strange name for such a fashion icon. However, the bag is not really shaped like a baguette. In fact, it gets its name mainly from the fact that it is small, so you carry it under your upper arm. Just like the French do with their baguettes!
The first Baguette bags had a short handle. However, in 2019 the bag got a makeover, with the addition of a longer shoulder strap. This made the bag even more versatile.
The Baguette in the photos below comes from a collection of the Dutch brand Claudio Ferrici from 2007. This bag has the characteristic short handle that was typical for that time. In addition, the bag stands out because of the fixed strap around the body, which is a real eye-catcher. In addition, the warm caramel color of the soft, shiny leather radiates luxury.
Although the bag is small and compact, Claudio Ferrici has cleverly played on this. For example, a handy card holder has been added, so you don't have to carry a large wallet and still have your credit cards at hand.
In summary, this bag is a real vintage gem! If you are looking for a shoulder bag with a rich history and a unique design, this Claudio Ferrici Baguette is an excellent choice.
